West Lothian Man charged over baby injuries

A West Lothian man has been charged with seriously injuring a three-month-old baby.

Barry Wilkes appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court in connection with the alleged attack, which resulted in the baby having suspected broken ribs.

Wilkes, 31, of Broxburn made no plea or declaration to a charge of assault to severe injury during the brief private hearing before Sheriff Brian Donald.

He was remanded in custody pending further inquiries.

He is expected to make a second court appearance next week.
