A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of another woman found seriously injured at a Fife flat.

Lisa-Ann Quigley, 30, was found at the property, in Valley Gardens in Kirkcaldy's Templehall area at about 18:20 on Tuesday.

She was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, but died in the ambulance on the way there.

Shazia Johnston, 24, from Fife, was charged with murder when she appeared Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Johnston made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

In an earlier statement released by Fife Constabulary, Ms Quigley's family said: "She was a much-loved mother, daughter and sister and she will be sorely missed by all family and friends."
