Boy smashes moving train window in Edinburgh

Two boys are being sought after one was seen throwing an object at a train in Edinburgh which smashed the driver's cab window.

The boys who were about 10 years old have blond hair and were wearing dark clothes. They were seen at Brunstane station just after 20:40 on Tuesday.

One of the boys was riding a bike at the time.

No-one was injured during the incident. The train was the 20:39 service between New Craighall and Glenrothes.

Sgt Linda Shields, of the British Transport Police, said: "The consequences of these stupid boys' actions could have been so much worse.

"I would appeal for anyone with knowledge of their identity to come forward as a matter of urgency.

"They were last seen making off in the direction of the Magdalane area of Brunstane and this is where they may reside."
