Elderly Fife man hit by bus in Glenrothes dies

An elderly man has died after being knocked down by a bus in Fife.

The accident happened at 10:20 at the Kingdom Centre bus station in Glenrothes.

The 84-year-old, from Windygates in Fife, was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, where he later died.

Fife Constabulary is appealing for anyone with information to contact them. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in Kirkcaldy.

Insp Brenda Sinclair, of Fife Constabulary, said: "We are currently investigating the full circumstances that led to the death of an 84-year-old Windygates man.

"I would appeal to any member of the public who was in the area of the bus station on Monday morning and who witnessed this tragic incident to come forward."
