Man killed after car struck tree in West Lothian named

A man killed in a road accident in West Lothian at the weekend has been named by police.

Jamie McLaughlin was driving north along the B8046 near Linlithgow at about 21:00 on Saturday when his Peugeot 206 collided with the kerb and struck a tree.

The 21-year-old from Livingston was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but later died from his injuries.

Lothian and Borders Police said inquiries were ongoing.

They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
