Man rescued from fire at flat in Kirkcaldy

A man has been rescued from the first-floor of a flat in Kirkcaldy after it caught fire.

Fife Fire and Rescue Service said the man was rescued from the flat in Lawson Street and taken to the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline by ambulance.

A spokeswoman said the flat was "well alight" when crews arrived at the scene at about 18:30 on Wednesday.

Two hose reel jets were used to fight the fire and investigations are continuing into the cause.
