Pensioner injured in Edinburgh bag snatch

A pensioner has received serious injuries after having her handbag snatched in Edinburgh.

The 75-year-old woman was walking along Groathill Road North at about 18:00 on Sunday when she was targeted by a man in his early 20s.

The bag was grabbed with such force the woman fell to the ground resulting in her being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the suspect was about 6ft tall and had a skinny build.

He was wearing dark clothes and a cream-coloured hat.

Anyone with information should contact Lothian and Borders Police.
