Vandals smash 19 cars across Edinburgh

A vandalism spree has caused several thousand pounds-worth of damage to 19 cars across Edinburgh, police said.

The vehicles were parked in Grange Loan, Duncan Street, Upper Gray Street, Fountainhall Road and Causewayside.

The cars had their tyres slashed and wing mirrors pulled off. Some had their bodywork scratched.

Lothian and Borders Police are linking the vandalism attacks, which are believed to have happened between 02:00 and 02:30 on Saturday.

Officers want to trace four people, two men and two women, who were known to have been in the area at the time.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "Over the past few days we have been collating the number of victims in these areas as the owners returned to find their cars damaged.

"These mindless acts of vandalism have caused high-value damage and resulted in unnecessary inconvenience for the motorists affected."
