Woman injured in crash with lorry on A706 in West Lothian

A 20-year-old woman has been taken to hospital with suspected multiple injuries after her car struck a lorry and was thrown into an embankment.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the A706 near Longridge, West Lothian, just before 17:00.

They found the woman trapped in her Renault Clio.

Lothian and Borders firefighters stabilised the car before cutting away the vehicle's roof, door and seats to free the woman.

She was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital in Lanarkshire.
