Baby taken to hospital after fire in Edinburgh

A 15-month-old girl has been taken to hospital as a precaution after a fire at a block of flats in Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service was called to the fire in Admiralty Street at about 04:40.

A spokesman said four fire crews tackled the blaze, which had started in the stairwell.

Firefighters advised residents to stay in their properties while they extinguished the flames and vented the stairwell.

An investigation is being held into the cause of the blaze.
