Man's death in Edinburgh's Saughton Park 'suspicious'

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man at a park in the west of Edinburgh.

Police said the man was found with serious injuries at Saughton Park, near the junction with Fords Road, at about 07:20 but he later died.

Police have put high-visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the community.

Det Insp Stuart Houston, of Lothian and Borders Police, appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.

"Saughton Park is regularly used by dog walkers and various other members of the public," he said.

"We are keen to speak to those who were in or around the park area between 6.50am and 7.20am today, particularlyaround the entrance to Fords Road, and would ask them to contact police immediately.

"Similarly, anyone with any other information that can assist with our inquiries is also asked to come forward."
