Man's jaw broken in serious attack in East Lothian

A man is in hospital with a broken jaw and cheekbone after he was seriously assaulted in East Lothian.

The 35-year-old man was attacked at about 01:30 in Prestonpans High Street and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "We want to speak to anyone who was in the area of the High Street in Prestonpans in the early hours of this morning."
