Man in 70s seriously hurt by bus in Edinburgh

A man is in hospital with head injuries after he was knocked down by a bus in Edinburgh.

The man, who is in his 70s, was hit by the bus at the junction of South Clerk Street and East Preston Street at about 13:30.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said he was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and road diversions were put in place.

The man is said to be in a serious condition.
