Fire burns 12 tonnes of grain at Easter Grangemuir Farm in Fife

Firefighters have been working through the night to tackle a grain fire in Fife.

A grain drier at Easter Grangemuir Farm, between Pitenweem and Anstruther, went on fire on Tuesday at 17:00.

At the height of the blaze 17 officers were needed to bring the flames under control. The fire was put out by 08:47 on Wednesday. Nobody was hurt.

About 12 tonnes of grain have been lost in a year when yields have been low because of the bad weather.
