Elderly woman knocked down by car in Edinburgh

An elderly woman is being treated in hospital after being knocked down by a car that was leaving a dental practice car park in Edinburgh.

The 82-year-old broke her hip when she was hit by the car outside the Murrayfield Dental Practice in Corstorphine Road on Tuesday at 16:35.

The woman was walking outside the practice when a green Mini Cooper that was exiting the premises hit her.

She was knocked to the ground and is at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Lothian and Borders Police is appealing for witnesses.
