Ronnie Simpson murder: Man appears in court

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a pensioner in West Lothian.

Ronnie Simpson, 67, was found dead in his flat in Mayfield Drive, Armadale, at 21:00 on Saturday 6 October.

Mr Simpson, who was described as a small, frail man who often walked with a stick, had suffered serious head wounds.

Keiryn Nisbet, 21, appeared in private at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday accused of murdering him.

Mr Nisbet, from Armadale, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

He was committed for further examination and the case against him was continued until Tuesday of next week.
