Woman rescued from burning flat in Edinburgh

A 79-year-old woman has been rescued from a fire in a flat in the north of Edinburgh.

The emergency services were called to the ground-floor property on North Junction Street in Leith just after 19:30 on Friday.

Firefighters located the woman and removed her from the property.

She was treated at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation.
