The Forth Road Bridge will no longer be fully closed for works later this week.

The planned closures from 00:30 to 03:30 on Thursday and Friday will now not go ahead as work is ahead of schedule.

Raynesway, the contractor, is undertaking the dismantling of the dropped object canopy.

Contraflows will still be in place on the bridge on both nights, with traffic restricted to a single lane in each direction.

Officials said it would not cause any "significant delays".
