'Large scale' cannabis farm found in Glenrothes

Police have seized drugs worth £200,000 after uncovering a cannabis farm in Fife.

Officers in Glenrothes discovered the "large-scale" cannabis-growing operation at a factory in the town.

A local man is in custody in connection with the find.

Insp Derek Paxton, from Fife Constabulary, said: "The cannabis-growing operation we have uncovered could easily be described as being on an industrial scale."

He added: "We found a very sophisticated operation that clearly has been capable of putting large amounts of illegal drugs onto the streets of Glenrothes and Fife.

"We will deal robustly with illegal drugs that plague our communities."
