Two women taken to hospital after Prestonpans fire

Two women have been taken to hospital following an early morning house fire in East Lothian.

The alarm, at the two-storey house in Grange Crescent East, Prestonpans, was raised just before 04:15.

The women aged 42 and 43 were taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary suffering from smoke inhalation.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the fire started in the hall on the ground floor.
