Woman raped in Gore Glen Country Park in Midlothian

A man who raped a woman in a Midlothian wood is being sought by police.

The woman, in her early 20s, was attacked between 13:00 and 16:00 on 17 May in woodland in the Gore Glen Country Park/Arniston Estate near Gorebridge.

The victim is white, 5ft 2ins tall, with dark straight shoulder-length hair, and was wearing a white vest top and faded blue jeans.

The attacker was white, 6ft 3ins tall, in his mid-20s, and of slim build.

He had fair hair and was wearing blue faded jeans and a white t-shirt.

Police want to hear from any witnesses who may have spoken to or seen a distressed woman in the area, or remember seeing the same woman with a man in the woodland or in Gorebridge.

The police are particularly interested in any dog walkers who were in the Gore Glen/Arniston Estate area at the time.

Police have conducted numerous local inquiries and said they had a positive lead, but are keen to hear from anyone with information.
