Man in court charged with gunpoint rape in West Lothian

A man has been charged with raping two women in West Lothian, one of them at gunpoint.

Kenneth Collins, 52, from Edinburgh is accused of using a loaded gun to force one woman to have sex.

In a separate incident he is said to have poured petrol on a woman while waving a naked flame at her.

Mr Collins made no plea or declaration when he appeared on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court. He was remanded in custody.

The 52-year-old faces two charges of raping different women, four charges of assault to injury and one of assault to danger of life.

He is due to appear again in court on a date to be confirmed.
