New confirmed sighting of missing student Yulia Solodyankina in Edinburgh

CCTV footage has been released of a missing Russian student showing her in Edinburgh the day after the previous last sighting of her.

The last confirmed sighting of Yulia Solodyankina, 22, had been at the Wee Red Bar in Lady Lawson Street on Thursday 6 June.

The footage shows Miss Solodyankina in South Bridge, close to Infirmary Street junction, at 14:50 on Friday 7 June.

She was later on CCTV at Glasgow's Buchanan Street bus station, at 16:55.

CCTV shows her wearing a dark coat with belt, dark shoulder bag, a red and orange coloured scarf, grey trousers, and brown shoes with white laces.

Miss Solodyankina, who speaks fluent English with a strong Russian accent, is 5ft 6ins tall, with a small mole on her left cheek.

Her ears are pierced and she wears a number of rings on her fingers, in particular a distinctive thumb ring, shaped like a small spoon.

Ch Insp Mark Patterson, of Police Scotland, has appealed for information.
