Flat searched over hotel chemical deaths
Police investigating the death of a couple at a five-star hotel in Edinburgh have searched a property near the Royal Mile.
The bodies of a man and woman were found at the city's Scotsman Hotel on Thursday, following a chemical-related incident.
Their deaths are still being treated as unexplained, but suicide has not been ruled out.
A spokesman confirmed the search was carried out as part of their inquiries.
The Scotsman Hotel is situated just off the Royal Mile and a short distance from Princes Street.
Police said on Friday evening that they had finished their inquiries within the hotel room and a number of items were seized by officers for forensic testing.
Guests staying at the hotel who were evacuated during the investigation were allowed to return.
