Man found in Edinburgh's King's Stables Road with head injuries identified

A man who was found with serious head injuries in Edinburgh's Old Town has been identified by police.

The 20-year-old was discovered on the road in King's Stables Road at 02:15 on Thursday and was taken to the Western General Hospital.

The Edinburgh man has been identified by his family but has not been named by police.

He remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind the incident and are appealing for witnesses.

The man, who has a Pokemon-type tattoo, was lying near the entrance to Princes Street Gardens, opposite the multi-storey NCP car park in Castle Terrace.
