Cyclist seriously injured in Fife crash with car

A cyclist has been seriously injured following a crash with a car in Fife.

The A912 between Falkland and New Inn was closed in both directions after the collision which happened at about 08:10.

A trauma team from Ninewells hospital in Dundee was sent to the scene. The ambulance service said the cyclist had head injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Sgt Derek Allan said: "This is a very busy road at this time of the day and I am appealing to any road user who witnessed this accident or has any information which will assist us with this investigation."
