Stranger offers girl, 12, lift home in Fife

Police are appealing for witnesses after a girl was approached by a driver in Fife.

The schoolgirl was approached in Main Street, Kelty at 15:50 on Tuesday.

Det Insp David Russell, of Police Scotland, said: "The driver of a small blue car has stopped and offered the 12-year-old girl a lift.

"Although she was unharmed and there was no physical contact between the man and girl, she was alarmed and upset by his actions and ran home."

He added: "Kelty is a small village and at the time this took place there would have been a number pedestrians and road users who may have information which could assist our inquiries."
