£70,000 of designer watches stolen at Almondvale centre

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses after £70,000 of designer watches were stolen from a jeweller's in Livingston.

The incident happened at about 03:45 at the Chisholm Hunter store in The Centre shopping centre.

Two men broke into the centre using a sledgehammer, and then broke the window of the jeweller's to steal 30 Tag Heuer watches that were on display.

The pair then drove off in a small car, possibly light in colour.

Det Con Bruce Kennedy, of Police Scotland, said: "This was a brazen crime which has led to the theft of 30 watches worth thousands of pounds each being stolen.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, who noticed the vehicle, to contact police as a matter of urgency.

"Similarly, anyone who believes they have been offered the stolen items for sale, or has any other information that can assist our inquiries, should also get in touch."
