Man dies after falling from Edinburgh's Scott Monument

Scott Monument The man fell from the Scott Monument on Friday afternoon

A man has died after falling from Edinburgh's Scott Monument into Princes Street Gardens.

Emergency services were called to the scene beside the Christmas market at 13:45 where the man was pronounced dead.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
