Injured man traced over cable theft in Fife
An injured man has been traced in connection with an explosion at a Fife electricity sub-station after an 11,000-volt cable was cut.
Police officers have now traced a 53-year-old man in the Leven area following an appeal for witnesses.
The power supply was cut to a number of houses and businesses in Methil after the cable was hacked on Monday.
Police Scotland said the man is suffering from a number of burn-related injuries.
Insp Donald Jenks, of Police Scotland, said: "We received information from a member of the public this afternoon and have now traced a man, who is suffering from a number of burns-related injuries.
"He is currently being taken to hospital and we will be interviewing him in connection with the incident when medical staff advise he is well enough to speak to us.
"I would like to thank the public for their co-operation and the information we were given."
