Police in Edinburgh have started an investigation into the discovery of a man's body.

They were alerted at about 07:30 to the find in Edinburgh's Victoria Park.

Police Scotland have not indicated whether the death of the man is being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman said: "Officers from Police Scotland are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man in Victoria Park in Edinburgh.

"The body was found around 7.30am and the investigation is still at an early stage."
