Police search for Edinburgh hit-and-run biker after woman injured

Police are hunting a hit-and-run motorbike rider who struck a pedestrian in Edinburgh on Thursday afternoon.

The woman was hit as she crossed Haymarket Terrace at about 17:10. She was left with head and body injuries.

The motorcycle was described as dark, possibly black, and had two youths on board, neither wearing helmets. It also had an L-plate on the back.

Officers said the vehicle made off towards the city centre and issued an appeal for information.
