Drugs worth £38,000 recovered in police house raids

Police have recovered drugs with a value of £38,000 following raiding three properties in Edinburgh.

Properties were searched in the Saughton Mains Terrace and Forrester Park Drive area as well as a third house in Loanhead.

These searches resulted in drugs to the value of £38,000 being recovered along with a significant sum of money.

Two people were charged and have appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act

Det Insp Stuart Harkness said: 'This is a significant recovery of Class A drugs which was intended for distribution within the community.

"The recent recoveries with the city demonstrates the commitment by Police Scotland in relation to stamping down on Serious and Organised Crime."

He added: "We will continue to actively target those involved and I would appeal to the public to work with us in that regard."
