Pedestrian involved in St Andrews fatal cyclist crash traced

A pedestrian involved in a Fife crash with a cyclist who later died has been traced following a police appeal.

The incident happened at about 15:50 on Friday in Bridge Street, St Andrews. A couple who witnesses the crash have also been traced by police.

The 63-year-old female rider and the man, who was on foot, both fell onto the road near the junction with Kinnessburn Road.

The pedestrian was not seriously injured.

The cyclist was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious head injuries but later died.

Sgt Iain Hutchison, of Police Scotland, said: "Police are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and we are eager to hear from members of the public who were in the area at the time of the collision.

"Police Scotland have traced the couple and the male pedestrian referred to in recent press releases, however they are still keen to speak to anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation and have asked that they contact police immediately."
