Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo sells out
The 65th Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has sold out - its earliest sellout in four years.
Producer Brigadier David Allfrey said he was delighted at the news but said box office staff would continue to deal with returns and advertise them daily.
It is the 16th successive sellout for the 24-performance event on the Castle Esplanade which runs until 23 August.
The programme will mark the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines and the centenary of World War One.
More than 1,000 performers, including 35 Zulu warriors, 40 fiddlers and 45 steel drummers are to take part in this year's Tattoo.
A total of 215,800 tickets for the three-week showpiece have been sold, generating about £9.6m in box office receipts.
The 2014 theme is Our Home, Friends and Family.
