In Pictures: Forth Bridge 50th anniversary fireworks

A massive fireworks display celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Forth Road Bridge opening to the public.

The bridge was closed for 30 minutes for the event from 10:06pm on Saturday, in recognition of the structure's 1,006m span.

A procession of 2,014 torch-bearers headed by Vikings opened the event.

The fireworks were organised by Titanium, the team behind the displays at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
