Man freed in Edinburgh attempted murder case
A 47-year-old man has been freed in an attempted murder case after a 24-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Edinburgh.
It follows an attack in Kekewich Avenue in Craigentinny in the early of hours of 8 September.
Police Scotland said inquiries were continuing into the attack.
The Crown Office said the man was liberated after a "full and careful consideration" of the facts and circumstances of the case.
A Crown Office spokesman said: ""The Procurator Fiscal at Edinburgh received a report concerning a 47-year-old male in connection with an alleged incident in Edinburgh on 8 September 2014.
"After full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the report, the accused was liberated from custody and did not appear in court.
"The case remains under consideration by the Procurator Fiscal".
