Gary Reid charged with Chinese takeaway owner murder bid

An 18 year old man has been charged with the attempted murder of the owner of a Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh.

Gary Reid from Edinburgh made a brief appearance in private before Sheriff Pamela Bowman at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

He made no plea or declaration was made and the case was continued for further inquiry. He was remanded in custody.

Jie Yu, 37, who owns the Peking Garden takeaway in West Pilton Park was stabbed in an attack on Wednesday.
