Duddingston robbery 'traumatised' shop staff

A robber armed with a knife left staff at a shop in Edinburgh "traumatised" after a raid on Saturday night.

The man demanded cash from the staff at the Scotmid in Duddingston Park at about 20:55.

He escaped with a "four-figure sum of cash" and ran off north towards the lane opposite Niddrie Mill Avenue.

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and black jogging bottoms.

He was wearing white trainers, black gloves, and black scarf around his face.

Det Insp John Kavanagh said: "The staff were left traumatised by the event and the man escaped with a four figure sum of cash.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Duddingston Park and heard or saw anything suspicious, to contact police on 101."
