There appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a baby girl at an Edinburgh nursery, police have confirmed.

An ambulance was called to the Careshare nursery in Morrison Street on 26 November when nursery staff discovered the girl was not breathing.

The 13-month-old girl was taken to the city's Royal Hospital for Sick Children but later died, police said.

The nursery was closed for an investigation but it has now reopened.

Police said inquiries are continuing into the death but there appear to be no suspicious circumstances.
