Pedestrian killed in taxi crash in West Lothian

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a taxi in West Lothian.

The 32-year-old man was in West Mains Street in Broxburn when the incident happened at about 23:10 on Thursday.

He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved was a Peugeot E7 S taxi. Police appealed for information.

Sgt Gary Taylor said: "We are keen to hear from any motorists or members of the public who were in the area at the time."

He added: "Officers are also trying to establish the man's movements prior to this incident and anyone who believes they have information relevant to our investigation is asked to contact police immediately."
