Trio charged over cocaine haul in Edinburgh

Three people have been charged after police in Edinburgh recovered Class A drugs in the west of the city.

Officers carried out a search of an address in Gorgie Road on Thursday and seized 600g of cocaine.

A search of another property in Gorgie Road resulted in £1,150 in cash and items associated with drug distribution being found.

Two men aged 40 and 28 and a 31-year-old woman are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

The total value of the cocaine seized was £29,000.

Det Sgt Gary Reid, of Police Scotland, said: "Once again, vital intelligence from the public has allowed police to seize large quantities of cocaine before it could be distributed within the community.

"We are committed to identifying those involved in serious and organised crime and associated offences such as the distribution of drugs and bringing them to justice."
