Man grabbed pram woman by neck in Livingston robbery bid

A man who grabbed a woman by the neck while she was pushing her baby in a pram on a path in West Lothian is being sought by police.

The 28-year-old woman was attacked on Tuesday at about 18:00 on a footpath between Lenzie Avenue and Carmondean Centre in Livingston.

The man then attempted to steal the woman's handbag.

The woman managed to fight back and the man was last seen running off into the wooded area near to Carmondean Centre.

The attacker is white, about 5ft 6in to 5ft 10in tall and with facial hair.

He was wearing a blue baseball cap, dark knitted jumper with the hood up, dark jeans, gloves and dark blue Adidas trainers with white stripes.

Det Con Stevie McCormick, of Police Scotland, said: "This was a frightening attack on a young woman which has left her badly shaken.

"We are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the suspect, or who recognise the description, to come forward."
