Man arrested after dog killed by off-road bike

A 32-year-old man has been arrested by police after a dog was killed by an off-road bike in Fife.

The dog, a white Saluki, was knocked down while walking with its owner on waste ground to the north of Mulberry Crescent, Methil, at 15:20 on Sunday.

He will be reported for culpable and reckless conduct.

Sgt Mike Collins, said: "This irresponsible and careless act in a popular walking area left a pet dead and an owner distraught."

He added: "Our local action plan, Ducatti, continues to address the problem of off-road motorbikes in the local area and I would like to thank the local community for their continued support.

"I hope this incident will hit home with those individuals who have chosen to ignore previous advice on the dangers of this illegal activity."
