Three in court over suspicious death in Dunfermline

Three people have appeared in court in connection with the death of a 26-year-old man in Dunfermline, Fife.

Arif Mahmood died in hospital following an incident in Queen Anne Street at 02:00 on Sunday.

Shaun Mitchell, 29, and Clare Buchanan, 23, are charged with assault to danger of life. Gavin Kirkcaldy, 25, is accused of culpable and reckless conduct.

No pleas or declarations were made at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Both men were remanded in custody and the woman was released on bail. All three accused are from the Fife area.

Mr Mahmood's family said: "We are finding it extremely difficult to come to terms with our loss."
