About 100,000 diazepam tablets and four kilos of cannabis worth up to £160,000 have been seized at an Edinburgh house by police.

The drugs were found on Friday in a house in Shore Place.

Greig John Strachan, 33, from Edinburgh, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday and was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

He made no plea or declaration and was bailed. He is due to appear again at a later date.

Det Insp Stuart Harkness, of Police Scotland, said: "Police Scotland remains committed to tracing those involved in the supply of controlled drugs that cause harm to communities across the country.

"Anyone with any information that can assist with our ongoing inquiries should make it known so we can assess and continue to target those involved in serious and organised crime and other offending in your neighbourhood."
