A man who indecently exposed himself to two different groups of women in Edinburgh is being sought by police.

The first incident happened at 22:15 on Monday in the Cowgate, near the junction of Niddry Street.

He then approached another group of women and exposed himself to them, before walking towards the Grassmarket.

The suspect was described as white, 5ft 2in to 5ft 3in tall and of stocky build. He had short dark messy hair and a deep voice, with a Scottish accent.

He was wearing a black t-shirt under a white or cream cardigan, with light grey cotton jogging bottoms and appeared to be heavily intoxicated.

Det Con Louise Forsyth, of Police Scotland, said: "This incident left both groups of women feeling shocked, and we are asking anyone who recognises the description of the suspect, or who witnessed this incident, to contact police immediately."
