Passenger dies on Edinburgh tram

Edinburgh's tram service was suspended after a passenger became unwell and subsequently died.

Police said the 74-year-old became ill on board a tram at Haymarket just after noon.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained. All trams were stopped during the medical emergency.

A police spokeswoman said: "The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
