Man attacked by stranger outside his Edinburgh home
A man has suffered head and facial injuries after an attack outside his Edinburgh house by a stranger.
The 38-year-old man was standing in Kirk Street on Thursday at about 01:30 when another man assaulted him.
The victim fell to the ground. When his attacker left he called his wife who took him to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The suspect is a young white man who was wearing grey clothing. Police have appealed for witnesses.
Det Con John Dunn, of Police Scotland, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a member of the public, who exchanged no words with his attacker.
"We are eager to trace this suspect. Anyone who saw anything suspicious, or has any information they wish to provide, is urged to contact police immediately."
