Teenager arrested over attempted murder of brothers

A teenager has been arrested by police in connection with the attempted murder of two brothers in Edinburgh.

The 16-year-old boy is in police custody after he was detained.

Peter Stewart, 43, and his brother James, 45, told police they had travelled from Aberdeen to buy a car and were subsequently stabbed in the Wardieburn area of the city on Wednesday, 8 April.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

The brothers required hospital treatment after the incident.

Police Scotland said their inquiries into the incident were ongoing.

The teenager is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court next week.
